Drawing Description

This work is inspired by natural biomimetics, combining the shape of tree branches with mortise and tenon structures to create a practical and artistic home storage rack. The work uses double cross spliced tree trunks + The modular structure of tree branch insertion allows for stable assembly without the need for glue; The circular holes and mortise and tenon joints on the branches can flexibly hang keys, jewelry, stationery or decorative accessories, achieving One thing can be used for multiple purposes Expanding the scene while retaining the minimalist line beauty of laser cutting technology, conveying the aesthetic of life that combines nature and design.

Determine the design theme and functional positioning

Establish the design theme as a natural wind-induced bird tree shaped hanging rack, with branches and flying birds as the visual subject, in line with the biomimetic design style.

Clear core function: Utilizing perforated circular holes and hook structures in the board to achieve storage and hanging of items such as keys, jewelry, and small pendants.

Selected Process: Adopting3-5mm Basswood board + laser cutting + Flat mortise and tenon joint, fully assembled without glue, with a simple and easy to make structure.

Overall design concept and layout planning

Referring to the natural tree branch morphology, determine the main body as a double crossed three-dimensional tree trunk to create a three-dimensional spatial effect.

Planning component composition: Cross shaped tree trunk 2 Several scattered tree branch hanging pieces, hexagonal cross base 2 Several pieces, bird decorations, and video clips.

Divided area: The bottom is a supporting base, the middle is a three-dimensional tree trunk, and there are branch hanging points on both sides. The branches are decorated with flying birds, creating a clear overall hierarchy.

Design of individual component shape

Design and draw two symmetrical tree trunk contours for the main section of the trunk, with a cross through slot in the center to achieve vertical cross splicing of the two sections; Multiple sets of horizontal slots are evenly arranged on both sides of the tree trunk for inserting branch hanging pieces, with slot widths uniformly matching the thickness of the board.

The design of tree branch hanging pieces includes multiple tree branch shapes of different lengths, with reserved tenons at the roots to accurately match the trunk slots; The branches are designed with two types of structures: circular hanging holes and open hooks, to meet the hanging needs of different items.

Hexagonal base design draws the outline of the hexagonal base, with a cross slot in the center. The width of the slot is adapted to the thickness of the stacked double tree trunks, ensuring stable support.

The bird decoration piece is designed to draw a silhouette of a flying bird, with a small tenon at the bottom that can be inserted into a reserved slot on a tree branch as a decorative embellishment.
