Maker Activity Week | Creative lampshade

After group discussion, we decided to create a lampshade that can accommodate colored lights and candles internally. In order to make the lampshade look more beautiful and simple, we adopted a rectangular design.

In terms of how to do it, since the laser cutting machine can cut any shape, we have decided to make each of the six sides of the rectangular prism one by one, and then assemble them by splicing. We will design a protruding design with a distance between the top, bottom, left, right, and four directions on each side of the rectangle, so that it can stand on the table under the support of the feet after splicing, and there is also a staggered beauty generated by splicing on the edges of the rectangular prism. After actual calculation, we have decided to design three rectangular protrusions on the top and bottom sides, with each spacing5.5Centimeters, the protrusions on other surfaces are designed to be staggered left and right, making it easy to assemble, with a beautiful appearance and no need for excessive calculations.

In terms of the specific design of the pattern, we used triangles at its four corners to enhance its beauty and give it the antique feeling of ancient horse lanterns. We wrote the four characters "one study is determined" at the center of each face, which is in line with the time when our group members are taking the postgraduate entrance examination. We have a beautiful wish that we can persist until the end, successfully land, and keep up the good work. In addition, at the center of the lampshade, cut a circle for easy placement of things, creating a smooth aesthetic.

Finally, the color and material of the wooden board itself give it a sense of antiquity.
