A lighthouse is a building located on a coast, port, or river to guide ships in their direction. Most lighthouses have a tower like shape, and through the lens system at the top of the tower, light is directed towards the sea surface for illumination. Before the emergence of electricity, fire was often used as a light source. Lighthouse is a high tower shaped building, and lighting equipment should be installed at the top of the tower. The location should be prominent, and attention should be paid to its specific architectural shape, which is easy for ships to distinguish. At the same time, it should become one of the highest points in the port. Therefore, the tower body must have sufficient height so that the light can be seen by distant ships. The general line of sight is15-25nautical mile;But the lighting should not be too high to avoid being obscured by clouds and mist from high places.
