In the 1960s, the Danbadorji tomb was discovered in Kalaqin Left Wing Mongolian Autonomous County, Chaoyang City. This Mongolian prince was highly favored for his meritorious service in rescuing his driver. Two exquisite gold shell pocket watches were unearthed from his tomb, revealing a history of clock development: during the Qing Dynasty, Western clocks presented by foreign delegations became an important medium for promoting cultural exchange between the East and the West. Since then, China's folk clock manufacturing industry has risen, and the Qing Palace has established the "Clock Making Department", becoming the largest clock production center in the country.
