独角仙，学名称双叉犀金龟，又称兜虫，其幼虫又有鸡母虫【蛴螬】之称，体形大而威武。独角仙在中国一些地方较为常见，数量多可能危害森林。在用途上，独角仙可作观赏，是常见的宠物，又有很高的药用价值。2008年，研究人员发现在不同条件下独角仙会变色，对研究智能材料有启示作用。
