双嵴龙是生存于侏罗纪早期的恐龙，身长约6-7米，体形修长。它们的头上长有两片近似半椭圆形或战斧形的不规则形状的头冠，因此得名双嵴龙。双嵴龙长有许多细小而尖利的牙齿；前肢短小，后肢长而粗壮，用后肢行走，行动敏捷；尾巴长而有力，行走时能保持身体平衡。
